Editorial Board
The Editorial Board supports the scholarly and ethical standards of the Journal of Research and Innovation for Societal Advancement.
JRISA is supported by an interdisciplinary editorial team with expertise spanning the natural sciences, engineering, artificial intelligence, data science, education, psychology, social sciences, quantitative research, literature, language, and scholarly communication.
The editors oversee manuscript evaluation and peer review within their areas of expertise and work with qualified external reviewers when additional subject-specific expertise is required. Editorial decisions are based on the content of submitted manuscripts, their fit with the journal’s scope, academic integrity, methodological or analytical appropriateness, and feedback obtained through the peer-review process.

Rongxiu Wu, Ph.D.
Dr. Rongxiu Wu is a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard Medical School whose interdisciplinary research spans artificial intelligence, machine learning, education, mental health, computational methods, and large-scale assessment. Her work bridges data-driven approaches with questions in education, psychology, and behavioral research.

Dandan Yang, Ph.D.
Dr. Dandan Yang is an education and social science researcher with expertise in quantitative methodology, data analysis, research synthesis, and interdisciplinary social science research. Her work focuses on the use of empirical evidence and quantitative methods to understand educational and social phenomena.

Rui Huang, M.S., Ph.D. Candidate
Rui Huang is a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northeastern University, where he also earned his master’s degree in the same field. His interdisciplinary research bridges physics, electrical engineering, materials science, artificial intelligence, and computational approaches to scientific discovery.

Managing Editor
Fangyuan Xu, B.A.
Fangyuan Xu coordinates manuscript submissions, editorial communications, manuscript formatting, and publication production for JRISA. She also brings a background in literature, language, and literary translation and has translated several published books. Her experience in language, translation, and editorial work supports the journal’s commitment to clear scholarly communication across disciplines.

Xiao Wang, B.A.
Xiao Wang coordinates digital publishing for JRISA, including the journal website, article metadata, typesetting, and production. As a teaching assistant for ConnectEd’s AI and Big Data course, he evaluated student research projects from across academic disciplines and advised on data analysis and literature review methodology. He previously built valuation, risk-modeling, and sentiment-analysis tools in investment and audit settings.

Jiaxin Huang, B.S.
Jiaxin Huang coordinates editorial operations for JRISA, including scheduling, workflow, and team communications. She founded a media production company before moving into conference and program operations, and her background spans project management, editorial production, and Chinese–English communication. She is a co-founder of the After Graduation Public Library.

JRISA welcomes research from across disciplines. Because no editorial team can represent every area of scholarship, manuscripts requiring specialized subject knowledge are evaluated with the support of external reviewers with appropriate expertise.
Editorial responsibilities
The Co-Editors are responsible for scholarly evaluation, peer-review oversight, reviewer selection, and editorial decisions.
The Managing Editors coordinate manuscript processing, author and reviewer communications, formatting, production, publication workflow, and the journal’s website and article metadata. They do not take part in scholarly evaluation or editorial decisions.
Editorial independence
Editorial decisions at JRISA are made independently from the journal’s publisher, sponsors, affiliated programs, and other commercial or educational activities.
Participation in a research program, educational program, mentorship program, conference, or service associated with the publisher or any related organization does not guarantee publication and does not influence editorial decisions.
Manuscripts submitted by individuals affiliated with the publisher, members of the Editorial Board, or individuals with other potential conflicts of interest will be handled by an editor without the relevant conflict and evaluated using the journal’s normal review standards.
Payment of any publication fee, when applicable, occurs only after editorial acceptance and does not influence manuscript evaluation.
Peer review and external expertise
JRISA is a multidisciplinary journal. Manuscripts are assigned to editors based on subject matter and methodological fit.
When a submission falls outside the specific expertise of the editorial team, the journal seeks qualified external reviewers with relevant disciplinary or methodological expertise.
External reviewers may include faculty members, researchers, postdoctoral scholars, doctoral researchers, advanced doctoral candidates, and appropriately qualified professionals. See Peer Review for the full process.
