About the journal

The Journal of Research and Innovation for Societal Advancement (JRISA) is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal.

JRISA was established to create an accessible publication venue for emerging scholars and for research that may be exploratory, interdisciplinary, developmental, applied, replicative, or otherwise valuable without necessarily making a major theoretical or disciplinary breakthrough.

The journal welcomes authors at all stages of scholarly development. This includes secondary school and university students, graduate researchers, early-career scholars, independent researchers, educators, professionals, and established academics.

JRISA believes that scholarly value should not be defined exclusively by novelty or prestige. Well-designed small studies, carefully developed literature reviews, replication studies, secondary analyses, exploratory research, negative or null findings, case studies, and thoughtful interdisciplinary inquiry can all contribute to the scholarly record.

At the same time, accessibility does not mean the absence of standards. Published manuscripts must demonstrate appropriate academic practice, transparent reasoning, responsible use of evidence, accurate citation, and compliance with relevant ethical requirements.

Mission

The mission of JRISA is to broaden access to scholarly publishing by providing a transparent, developmental, and multidisciplinary publication platform for emerging scholars and early-stage research.

The journal seeks to:

  • encourage meaningful engagement in scholarly inquiry
  • provide emerging researchers with experience in academic publishing
  • support transparent and responsible research practices
  • create space for exploratory and developmental scholarship
  • promote communication across disciplinary boundaries
  • make published scholarship freely accessible to readers worldwide

Editorial philosophy

Accessible: Scholarly publishing should be accessible to researchers at different stages of academic development.

Developmental: Peer review should help authors strengthen their scholarship as well as determine whether a manuscript is suitable for publication.

Interdisciplinary: JRISA welcomes scholarly inquiry across disciplinary boundaries.

Integrity-Focused: The journal maintains clear standards regarding research ethics, citation accuracy, transparency, authorship, and responsible use of evidence.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions at JRISA are made independently from the journal’s publisher, sponsors, affiliated programs, and other commercial or educational activities.

Participation in a research program, educational program, mentorship program, conference, or service associated with the publisher or any related organization does not guarantee publication and does not influence editorial decisions.

Manuscripts submitted by individuals affiliated with the publisher, members of the Editorial Board, or individuals with other potential conflicts of interest will be handled by an editor without the relevant conflict and evaluated using the journal’s normal review standards.

Payment of any publication fee, when applicable, occurs only after editorial acceptance and does not influence manuscript evaluation.
