Artificial Intelligence Policy

JRISA recognizes that generative artificial intelligence and automated research tools are increasingly used in academic work. The journal permits responsible use of such tools while requiring transparency and human accountability.

Authors

Generative AI systems may not be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for all content in their manuscript, including factual accuracy, analysis, citations, references, interpretation, originality, and compliance with research ethics.

Authors must independently verify outputs generated by AI systems. AI-generated citations or references must not be included unless the cited source has been independently verified.

Use of generative AI for substantive drafting, analysis, coding, image generation, literature synthesis, translation beyond routine language assistance, or other meaningful contribution should be disclosed. Routine spelling, grammar, formatting, or basic language editing generally does not require detailed disclosure.

Suggested AI disclosure

During preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) used [TOOL] for [PURPOSE]. The author(s) reviewed and verified the resulting material and take full responsibility for the content of the manuscript.

Reviewers

Reviewers must protect manuscript confidentiality. Reviewers should not upload confidential manuscripts or substantial manuscript content into publicly accessible generative AI systems. Generative AI should not be used to generate the substantive peer-review assessment.

Editors

Editors are responsible for editorial decisions and must exercise independent human judgment. Automated tools may assist with administrative tasks or integrity screening, but final editorial decisions must involve human review.
